Hi, I’m Ruby!

Thank you for taking the time to join me and my art on this corner of the internet.

Originally from Aotearoa New Zealand, I grew up surrounded by beautiful landscapes and seascapes, which was such an honour and privilege. I spent most of my childhood in pursuit of creativity and the feeling of wonder in the world around me. My Summers were spent outside: fishing, camping, swimming, and playing in the garden. It was only natural for my artwork to heavily focus on the gorgeous flora and fauna of Australasia.

In the early 2020s, I enrolled in oil painting classes to gain a better understanding of the medium. Since then, my love for the medium has only continued to grow, as well as my appreciation of the beauty of the natural world.

I migrated to Australia in 2024, and at the start of 2026, I made the difficult decision to move from my original landing place of Naarm/ Melbourne to follow my dream of being an artist. In only four weeks, I had quit my job, packed up all of my belongings and started to call Sydney home. Since then, I have found more family in the community of artists at the Headland Artist Precinct in Georges Heights, Mosman. While I am so incredibly grateful to have a studio to paint in, I am even more grateful to be surrounded by talented and knowledgeable artists.

Through my work, I endeavour not only to exhibit the stunning beauty of the world around us, but also to remind viewers what we must continue to work hard to protect.
